The trailer lasts 2.28 minutes which is a convention of the article trailers
The trailer goes straight into the narrative with dialogue from the main characters (which introduces them to the audience)

There are lots of quick cuts, showing different scenes but focussing on the more, exciting, chaotic parts of the narrative. (This would act as a marketing tool.

There is a clear romcom narrative being shown with conventions such as male and female being opposite. By using clear conventions of romantic comedy’s, it highlights the genre and targets the audience effectively
Although the narrative is clear, the editing cuts the scenes using enigma and doesn’t uncover all of the plot. For example, the 2 characters explain that they are going to pretend they are together to fool everyone, however the editing then cut to a lot of the romantic scenes in the film but as the rest of the narrative is not revealed, the audience are left wondering how it will end. (Again, another marketing tool to encourage the audience to watch the film)
They use text that comes on the screen ‘FROM THE DIRECTOR OF EASY A AND FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS’. They use this text as a marketing tool to help show that this film will be as successful as the films mentioned as both were relieved well by audiences. (These films are of the same genre)
The editing is relatively fast paced with cross cutting of different entertaining scenes from the film which will help captivate audiences
The text on the screen ‘FAKE IT UNTIL YOU MAKE IT’ acts as a way of talking to the audience and making them question whether the 2 characters will end up together
The actors names and images are shown on the screen which is using an element of endorsement to target audiences
The humorous scene of the male stripping because of a spider is probably one of the most memorable scenes of the film and using it towards the end of the trailer is a convention as it leaves the audience feeling positive and entertained by the film. (This again indices the audience to go and watch the film
The name of the film is then shown ‘Anyone but You’
The last part of the trailer gives the information that it’s coming soon and also has information for the online and social media/texts to get more information on the film. (This is a common convention of film trailers as it allows audiences to access other platforms which could widen their audience and create more awareness).
