Analysing Taglines - Conclusion

  • A lot of the taglines seem to foreshadow danger or death
  • There is a lot of use of personal pronouns which engage the viewer and make them feel a sense of fear
  • The taglines are short and snappy and link to the narrative of the films
  • The taglines use psychological phrases or language such as ‘How Far Would You Go To Become Someone Else’
  • They can often use a rhetorical question to engage the audience
  • The taglines can play on double/ambiguous meanings e.g. ‘WHAT YOU SEE CAN HURT YOU’.
