Genre and Online Marketing - 'The Talented Mr. Ripley'

- The colour palette used on the dominant image is again using greys and blues and the image has a blue filter. This connotes the dark narrative and the isolation and despair of the characters
- The image used also has the antagonist (Ripley) on the front of the motorbike which shows he is dominant and leading the narrative as he is in total control. (Conventional of the antagonist)
- The antagonist is dressed in black and this connotes his dominance and dark characteristics. (Generic of the antagonist)
- The two characters seem to not be in the sunny side of the shot - which connotes the dark side to the narrative and how things could turn dangerous. (Convention of genre)
- The layout is simplistic and the white background and black fonts could be generic of the good VS evil narrative of the film.
- The image in the film poster has been analysed in the film poster section
