Online/Social Media - 'Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire'

 

  • The Sony production company is listened at the top left and right of the home page
  • The title of the film ‘GHOSTBUSTERS FROZEN EMPIRE’ is prominently placed in the centre of the screen (and the logo of ghost busters). This is a convention as it creates effective synergy and marketing for the audience
  • The trailer is playing in the background which can be a convention of online marketing using videos from the film
  • There is a navigation menu which makes for an easier user experience. This is also a common convention
  • The drop down categories allow the audience to access more information regarding the film such as the synopsis and gallery, the audience can also be more interactive with the platforms (VR)
  • Another convention are pop ups which are normally adverts or competitions
  • There are videos which the audience can access on the ghostbusters social media platforms - there are all different trailers for the film which are posted
  • Another convention is the gallery of pictures which can be exclusive to the platform
  • Another convention that social media can do is market other products within the film franchise. E.g. the VR game and exclusive QR codes that allow audiences to have exclusive experiences 
  • There are other adverts for experiences connected to the ghostbusters brand which are ghostbusters concerts and links to other trailers from the past films - images of the films are placed and viewers can click on the ‘see more’ buttons effectively and quickly which is a convention of social media ( ease and less time consuming )
  • Lots of images to text ratio - more eye catching and conventional.
  • The colours used are simple but link to the ten film colours of red and white. ( effective branding ) which is conventional.
  • The layout is all on one easy page where the user can scroll down to find, but can use the navigation menu which takes you directly to that area
  • The #ghostbusters is shown which links to the social media pages and allows audiences to share the link easily - again allows audiences to be interactive which is a convention of online marketing
