Conventions of Teaser Trailers - 'Home Alone 2' (1992)

  • Establishing shot of Statue of Liberty and yellow taxis representing New York
  • Families soundtrack that relates to the narrative
  • Quick, fast paced cuts from one scene to another showing iconic parts of the film
  • The scenes are cut fast from one to another and show familiar characters from the 1st film of Kevin which builds up the recognition and intertextuality for the viewer
  • Shows scenes which are teasers to the audience to make them excited about the coming film. By cutting the scenes with Kevin screaming and his mum looking panicked. ( this all links to the original film)
  • Cuts to parts of the film scenes and shows some of the narrative and focuses on teasing the audience with the familiar characters
