'Bohemian Rhapsody' - Theatrical Trailer

 

  • The trailer begins with the recognisable queen song which is on high volume and immediately engages the audience
  • The narrative focus is around Freddy Mercury and the over the shoulder shot from behind helps build up the enigma and anticipation from the audience
  • The pace of the editing is fast with iconic images associated with the band ‘Queen ‘. (E.g. the guitar)
  • It cuts into titling to give information to promote the film and again shows more fast shots which creates enigma to the narrative
  • The words that are being used are split between shots and captivates the audience to carry on watching in order to understand what is being said. The titles are selling the film by promoting it as something really exciting. (“The only thing more extraordinary than the music is his story”)
  • The trailer continues showing scenes from the film, highlighting Mercury story without giving away too much
  • The fast paced cuts show that the film is going to be gripping, full of action and drama and giving the audience an insight into the  background life of mercury
